For you history buffs, we will archive every article penned by the Shark Team in 2005. As each week is finished, we will move the content to this page so you can reminisce about the good old days ... like week 1.
Here I am in my bungalow and I am saddened by the fact that I cannot come up with the right words needed to introduce my wife to a Fantasy Sharks Thong. Any suggestions Virgin fans?
Everyone's favorite robot returns a week ahead of schedule for some pre-season predictions. The BetBot's back with his usual blend of football advice and obnoxious humor. Break out the Gin.
With three weeks of the pre-season concluded, it’s time to start looking at how players and teams are starting to jell with any changes made in the off season. Here’s a team-by-team review of each team in the AFC South from a fantasy football perspective.

Tier Based Drafting Brian Jackson, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Aug 30, 2005
New to Fantasy Football or do you find yourself struggling to make decisions? Don't have enough time or experience for VBD? TBD may be the solution.
The Progno gives some last minute QB impressions for 2005 for your draft. As usual, he climbs out on the most fragile brittle limb and doesn't make comments like, "Peyton Manning will make it look easy." OK, well, he may have said that but there's much more you'll be surprised with when you discover where he is laying his hat this season.
FantasySharks.com offers a variety of FREE contests to its members as well as some cash to the lucky winners. This year is no different. We will still have our Pick ‘Em Contest and Swim with the Sharks Contest. We also created a Survivor style Contest.
This is week 3 of the preseason when teams usually play their best plays for most of the game. This leaves some historical strategies towards betting this week.
Eugene Parker is to Drew Rosenhaus like Paduwan is to Jedi Master. He still has a few things to learn. Rosie may have protested when his guys crossed the line during the recent holdouts of Javon Walker and Terrell Owens, but you can be sure he orchestrated the stage.
Have you ever wondered how to orchestrate a trade in a dynasty league? Here's a step-by-step procedure used to orcestrate what was considered a blockbuster trade in a dynasty league earlier this year.
On Aug 11th the site passed the 20,000 member mark and we'd like to thank you for making it possible. We've enjoyed watching our little corner of the web grow and enjoyed the commentary in our Shark Tank Forum. It's a place where many contribute to this great game and a place we're proud of. Thanks for 20,000!
The Indianapolis Colts are one of the most exciting offensive teams in the NFL. Clearly they're going to have a lot of high performers this year. How will the other teams in the AFC South fare?
The Seadog Report Doug Gaskell, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Aug 11, 2005
The Cowboys, Eagles, 'Skins, and Giants will battle it out for the NFC East title but who from this division is going to help you battle your way a fantasy league Championship?
AFC West Preview Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Aug 8, 2005
Starting today and running into next week, FantasySharks.com will be breaking down each and every impact player and their fantasy football value. Today we start with the AFC West.
The weekly segment labeled The Diary of the Fantasy Virgin is back again. Now, see, unlike most of the rest of the planet, in the world of Fantasy Football, you can become a Virgin again.Or at least I should say that I can become a Fantasy Football Virgin once again.
Greetings, yankee-types! This is the Phantom, writing to you from God’s country south of the Mason-Dixon. After a sixer of Natty Lite, I was cruising the web the other night (yes, we do have the Internet down here,) when I came across Fantasy Sharks and said to myself, “For Philly boys, these guys Dolfi/Walls don’t tell it half bad.” After that, all it took was a short email to Rob to persuade him of my talent—that, and a game worn Bill Gramatica jersey to help grease the cogs of bureaucracy.
Unlike the other skill positions, Running Back is the one position where a rookie can just *rip up* a fantasy league! Smoke the guppies in your league chasing those whose reputation far exceeds their talent like Bettis and Faulk, and grab a future stud the less studious have overlooked. And if you're a dynasty league owner, rookie backs are the cornerstone of your franchise! Ever win a league starting three wideouts every week? Me neither.
With Terrell Owens, Rosenhaus had the unmitigated gall to compare what his clients do with the risks our armed forces take. On HBO, Rosenhaus ranted "It's OK for Tom Cruise to make $50 million for a movie. But a guy who risks his life can't get paid a decent wage?" said Rosenhaus. "B.S. I'm not standing for it. I don't care what system it is. I don't care who agreed to it. It's wrong. If you don't agree with it, too bad."
Today, we'll be checking out the rookie Quarterbacks. Traditionally, QB is a position where rookies don't blow the door off of the fantasy world right out of the gate, and this year looks to be no exception. But without doubt, several of these guys will see some significant playing time this year. And I don't need to tell you dynasty league owners the value of a young QB prospect, especially in a large league.
The Den Returns!! A month or so (at least!) later than I had originally hoped, but we're (finally) going to run thru what happened a few months ago in the 2005 NFL Rookie Draft. We'll be running down each and every selection that was made on the offensive side of the ball, pointing out each player's potential impact both in the short term (re-draft leagues) and long term (dynasty leagues).
The legendary Great White Shark League has begun it's 2005 draft. This league is made up of proven champions that have worked their way up our league ladder. They don't work for a major sports outfit or operate their own fantasy football site. Instead they prove that they are the best in class by simply winning time and time again. They're the elite of what we have to offer from our Shark Showcase leagues and it's a good draft to follow as it is the most competitive league of all champions on the planet.
Next up are our four Showcase Whale leagues that start drafting August 8th. All other league tiers, Hammerhead, Mako, Blue etc. begin drafting August 15th. Good luck all!
This is a release from the 1999/2000 season. Of the four lessons this one was met with the most fervor. People either thought it was one of the better fantasy football articles they had come across or considered it pure slop. To each their own!
In this lesson we learn how to put "Part 1 – The Golden Rules" and Part "2 – Eagle Scout" together to have a good draft. What to bring, what to do, how to do it. The draft, soup to nuts.
This rerun of the 1999/2000 popular "fantasy football progno style" series, delves into player analysis and uncovers the statistics to hang your hat on. The goal is to teach how to decide between two apparently equal players, when evaluating talent during your draft in free agency or via a trade...
As a number of people have asked for it, I’m republishing this set of articles that were originally published in 1999. I cleaned them up a little as I went. There are a total of four articles in this series and I never did finish the fifth article that was planned...
Some last advice for commisionners, and a sample league constitution from the author's league. Documenting all of your rules is something all good leagues should do, feel free to use this constituion as a template for your league.
We cover a few ways to set up free agent acquisitions. Like business managers, the fantasy owners that acquire wisely do much better than the managers that don't.
I went looking through history to see how quarterbacks fared the season after the best season of their career. I wanted to see how much their production dropped and if Manning was really worth a high first-round pick in 2005 drafts as some claim he should be...
If you’ve spent any time playing fantasy football, you’ve probably heard that a wide receiver entering his third year in the league. You know – the one that states it takes a wide receiver a few years to learn the ropes in the NFL. Because of this, a wide receiver will typically have a breakout year in his third year in the league...
Fantasy Football Textbook (thanks, America, the Book) - Going back to basics.
I will be writing over the next few weeks the basics of running a fantasy league and being an owner in a fantasy league. First up is a quick overview of some ways to assemble a league. (Like I wrote, real basic)...
In my time here at FantasySharks, I’ve read many posts about the "30 year rule" with regard to Running Backs. I’ve always been curious about whether this was accurate or not but I’d never had the time or ability to research it too much. So, I started digging...
The Betbot is startled back into writing after noticing the Live8 concert is in Philadelphia. He shares some thoughts on the prime contenders for the NFC crown. If he didn't cover your favorite team, and your favorite team is in the NFC they either aren't the Eagles or aren't a contender. Sorry.
Spring Stinks Tom Walls, Fantasy Football Staff Writer May 8, 2005
It's Spring, the worst season of the year. What's a Fantasy Football owner to do? The DTs are starting to kick in, right? This column focuses on keeper and dynasty leagues, but has some good overall ideas for all fantasy owners.
TO's Pity Party Ben Ice, Fantasy Football Staff Writer May 3, 2005
Terrell is a prime example of all that is wrong in professional sports. He is greedy, selfish, and completely without class in how he has handled his career. Donovan is just the latest, and almost certainly won't be the last, scapegoat sacrificed to the ego that is TO.

Most of us have either participated in a mock draft or fantasized about who we could get with the first few picks in the draft. That stud running back, left tackle, linebacker, quarterback, whoever it is we feel help get us to the big game.
Need tickets to a game? Think there's no way you can get tickets to a Red Sox/Yankees game? Broadway more your thing? How about tickets to your favorite Las Vegas show? Come to our Fantasy Sharks Tickets site and see what you've been missing.
I listened to the first Super Bowl XL planning committee press conference today, and the first thing I thought of was “Man, it’s gonna be freakin’ COLD up in Detroit Michigan.”
Over the month of February, I have been working with Dmon and TaZZ to conduct the first mock draft for the 2005-2006 NFL season. The process was long, and at times tedious. In the end we saw some great results on all the teams! Click here to check it out…
There are some similarities and differences between me and Mel Kiper Jr. Let's start with the similarities. We both write mock drafts, we both like football and, OK that's it. Now for the differences. I'm about 35 years younger, have much better hair and I won't make you pay to read my mock draft!
The Dynasty den is Back!!! Sorry for the delay, but with the Patriots winning the Super Bowl and now my beloved Huskies in the Beanpot Finals...not to mention unmpteen players to rank here...no doubt this list will rankle some while just confusing others. Let the debating begin!
Could it be true? YeeessssssSS! The Dynasty Den makes a surprise appearance!!! Wait a minute, is anyone even out there now that the regular season is over? I hope so, this will be the first installment of four (I think) where we discuss the Quarterbacks.
