For you history buffs, we will archive every article penned by the Shark Team in 2005. As each week is finished, we will move the content to this page so you can reminisce about the good old days ... like week 1.
I'm a little worried about this game primarily since Eli Manning is away from the confines of Giant Stadium and the world expects him to torch the 49'ers for big gains. I'm worried that it may be a little too much expectation for the young QB on the road and that will have an even more detrimental effect on his still fragile psyche...
Halfway home, no, not where I live, but halfway through the football season. I'm actually profiting this year, even with the mis-steps with the five star plays earlier in the season.
Week 9 is here...already! We have three very good matchups for you, as the playoff picture begins to very slowly come into focus, these games will be very important for all 6 teams highlighted here. Sit back, grab a Netty Lite, or Yuengling and enjoy!
Week 9 On the Rocks The Sin City BetBot 6000, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Nov 4, 2005
The deeper sleeper pool is getting pretty thin but the BetBot has a few choice cuts for you to select from. This week he totally changes direction on Tim Rattay but stays the course with Alvin Pearman. Yes, we're pretty sure he's misfiring a few circuits. No, we can't afford to fix him yet.
Last night, Ed Berliner once again opened up Comcast Cable's CN8 studio for Doug Coutts and the sharks to talk fantasy football on the Sports Pulse. With the playoff chase in full swing, now's a good time to analyze NFL team strength of schedule for the stretch run.
The Seadog Report Doug Gaskell, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Nov 4, 2005
Week #8 has come and gone, and while last week seemed to be the week of the DL, this week appeared to be the week of the DB as several came up big.

The Brutus Report Jim St. Onge, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Nov 3, 2005
Mid-season is here and what a brutal season it has been!
Only two weeks of byes left. Four of the top twelve skill-position scorers from last week are sitting out week nine (Plummer, Moulds, S.Jackson, M.Barber), but both Edge and Alexander return with favorable matchups. There's plenty of options at RB to choose from.
I've broken down all 32 teams' schedules for the final 6 weeks of the season, the critical period for fantasy playoff runs. Use this as a tool to solidify your team for the playoffs, through waiver pickups or cheap trades.
The Pick 'Em, Swim and Survivor Contests are ready. If you have any questions about these contests please update the Contests Are Ready topic in the Main Tank. Good Luck!
Just after draft day, you were all set at quarterback. With Chad Pennington backing up Duante Culpepper, any roster worries you'd have would certainly be elsewhere. NOT! Hey, I've been there myself brotha. That's why, even in week 9, it's *never* too late to be scouring the waiver wire. Now how much would you pay for advice like this? But wait...we have not one, not two, but *three* Johnsons to mention! Call now!!
Week 8 Jason Brichta, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Nov 1, 2005
The Eagles came into this season expecting to blaze a trail toward defending their NFC title and representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. A few things have happened since then, and those hopes are quickly fading.
Contest results for week 7 are now available. Tough week this week with 10-4 taking best record in the Pick 'Em Contest. JT_the_BRICK is the overall leader. Java posted the highest score in the Swim Contest. adman_attack is making the move for the overall lead (2 weeks dropped). Here are the results for the Survivor Contest. We've got 8 members with S$75,800! Our own Tony Holm is up there with S$56,832 - that's some strange betting!
Week Eight in Review Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Oct 31, 2005
Abbreviated version this week...a slew of kickers get mentioned and allow me to lead the "Damn You, Antonio Gates!!" chant....
After carefully inspecting each team I realized that if I had graded teams in the preseason according to their bench rather than their starting lineup I would have had a better indication of where teams would be eight weeks into the season.
The Patriots always play poorly in Miami and their defense is a shell of what it once was. They dearly miss Richard Seymour and they will get better quickly upon his return...
Well, it has gone from bad to worse, my friends.Just ask the footballer in your league that has Mr. Priest Holmes. That is going to come back and bite ya.
The Seadog Report Doug Gaskell, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Nov 11, 2005
Week #9 is in the books as we head into the 2nd half of the season. Hopefully you are all on the right track with your IDP endeavors, it’s been interesting so far hasn’t it?
NOTE: Above you will find the player projections by division/team. For a listing by position, use the Player Projections blue tab above. Also, don't forget to try out our Interactive Projections Tool as well as your personalized FantasySharks Lineup Coach TM
Week 10 is here and we have two very good matchups and a can't miss media train-wreck. Playoff implications, offense, water-cooler chat, and walruses (walrusi?) - this one is chock full of football-y goodness. Sit back, grab a Natty Lite, or Yuengling and enjoy!
The Pick 'Em, Swim and Survivor Contests are ready. If you have any questions about these contests please update the Contests Are Ready topic in the Main Tank. Good Luck!
Hopefully, all of you Tomlinson owners are sitting at 8-1 or 7-2 so losing the big man for a week isn't that painful. If you're one of the lucky owners with both Tomlinson and Carson Palmer, well, week eleven will be here before you know it. Look for some fresh faces on the Start/Bench list this week as teams start to prep for the fantasy playoff run.
Contest results for week 9 are now available. Zippa and NITLION posted the best record in the Pick 'Em Contest. Bokeefs and Big Bill63 are the overall leaders. tiptonhr posted the highest score in the Swim Contest. adman_attack is making the move for the overall lead (2 weeks dropped). Here are the results for the Survivor Contest. We've got 8 members with S$152,500!
Running backs win titles. It's that simple. Start a single back every week and you have *no* chance of winning it all, no matter who else is on your team. Believe it! And this is one of the craziest weeks for running backs in recent memory. Read on and with some luck you'll snag two or more nice fill-in starters. And the way the regular starters are dropping, I know you need them!
Finally! The saga that has plagued the entire season has some closure. Unfortunately, we are in for the same thing next season.
Week Nine In Review Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Nov 7, 2005
The 2005 Fantasy Football Season has officially gone silly. Five more Running Backs are added to the "is this guy going to play next week?" list. What's a fantasy owner to do? Not to mention, fantasy points were hard to come by this week...
Which is more of a thrill: Winning a big pot in Texas hold em or seeing your starting RB run for a 50 yard touchdown? I think the rush is similar in both instances and interestingly enough, I think there are more similarities between the two phenomenon.
"Aussie, Aussie, Oi!, Oi!, Oi!" That's right Poker fans, Australian Joe Hachem walks away as the the 2005 World Series of Poker Champion with a cool $7.5M in his pocket. He earned the title holding a 7-3 to A-3 and flopped a straight when 6-5-4 fell...
The problems with the Survivor Pool have been resolved. We had to pull the table from a previous day. If you previously made your picks they have been lost! Please take a moment to enter your picks now. Thanks.
Let’s skip the recaps, and move right along. So, don’t give up on me now, I’ve got a five star winner at the end of the article!
Games to Watch Tom Walls, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Nov 18, 2005
Hey!! Look who it is!
The 1972 Dolphins resurface in the NFL's version of Groundhog's Day. Every year, the 1972 Dolphins poke their head out of the hole, and every year, everyone not in the National media couldn't give a damn. Also, we take a look at the tight race in the NFC South and the topsy turvy NFC North.
Last night, Ed Berliner once again opened up Comcast Cable's CN8 studio for Doug Coutts and the sharks to talk fantasy football on the Sports Pulse. Check out what they talked about.
This week's game against the Colts is probably the most important game the Bengals have played since Super Bowl XXIII. Curse the local network here in Denver for airing the pathetic Oakland-Washington matchup. I want to see this game!
Greetings from the world of IDP's! Our resident IDP guru, Seadog, is out on vacation for a couple of weeks, and he was kind enough to ask ol' Swarm to fill in. Big thanks to Doug, as well as Tony and Rob, for the chance to do this!
The Pick 'Em, Swim and Survivor Contests are ready. If you have any questions about these contests please update the Contests Are Ready topic in the Main Tank. Good Luck!
Wow, week 11 already? It doesn't seem possible! And as bare as one would think the waiver wire would be this late in the season...it isn't! Come on in and see who's filling the holes left by this year's bumper-crop of star player injuries.
Three records were set this week, and some of them in amazing fashion. What most people didn’t realize is how amazing a couple of teams are playing in the NFC.
Contest results for week 10 are now available. Our own Stan Yiip posted the best record in the Pick 'Em Contest. candyman is the overall leader. Jaywine posted the highest score in the Swim Contest. adman_attack is the overall leader (2 weeks dropped). Here are the results for the Survivor Contest. Only 5 members bet it all and now have S$306,000!
What did Willis McGahee, Corey Dillon, Cedric Benson, Mewelde Moore, Duce Staley, Cadillac Williams, Tatum Bell, and Jamal Lewis all have in common this week? Many owners started these RB’s and amazingly, all of them combined to score less fantasy points than Sam Gado!
Week Ten in Review Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Nov 14, 2005
Ten weeks in the books....the bye weeks are over, but the injuries and and game time decisions are not. Call me old fashioned, but I liked fantasy football in the day where you were able to submit your lineup on Friday and be done with it. My wife liked those days, too.
If you recall, we said Sam Gado was about to demonstrate why he was low on the depth chart to start with last week.Hopefully you heeded the advice. He’ll continue to not perform well here...
From a snowy desk in New England, the scene outside will placate even the harshest soul. The serenity is so appealing that just like the song; it actually is a picture print from Currier and Ives.
NOTE: Above you will find the player projections by division/team. For a listing by position, use the Player Projections blue tab above. Also, don't forget to try out our Interactive Projections Tool as well as your personalized FantasySharks Lineup Coach TM
I may have to change my name and start living under the witness protection program. With the picks I made last week, it’s clear my bookie will be trying to track me down this week and not the other way around.
The BetBot is a Thanksgiving fan. He's giving thanks for a bunch of weak schedules down the stretch that will bring home your fantasy championship. Also, he examines some backup RBs in a good spot and makes a surprising admission.
3 more games that you absolutely, positively, just can't miss this week. We look at 3 matups of divison leaders this week, including one for you on Turkey-Day. Gobble, gobble.
The Brutus Report Jim "Dominion" St. Onge, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Nov 23, 2005
Welcome to the Turkey & Stuffing edition of the Brutus Report!
Greetings from the world of IDP’s, you have found the Thanksgiving edition of the Seadog Report. As most of you know our IDP guru Seadog is on vacation, and I am filling in. Thanks again to Doug for the chance to do this, it has been a blast!
The Pick 'Em, Swim and Survivor Contests are ready. If you have any questions about these contests please update the Contests Are Ready topic in the Main Tank. Don't forget - contests close early this week! Good Luck.
Contest results for week 11 are now available. Lostteeth posted the best record in the Pick 'Em Contest. DMEDMEDI is the overall leader. 5XChamps posted the highest score in the Swim Contest. adman_attack has opened up a big margin as the overall leader (2 weeks dropped). Here are the results for the Survivor Contest. 5 members bet it all again and now have S$615,300!
Week 12...it's crunch time! Is your team riding high or riding pine? If you're in the hunt and your league still allows waivers, don't stand pat. A hot player you can use as a fill-in may bail you out when you're least expecting it. So let's get some!
All the drama that was the Eagles’ season ended on Monday. No, it didn’t involve T.O.; it was the decision for McNabb to end his season and have surgery.
So why is it that Steve Smith was able to hang 169 on the Bears when no other Panther had over 20 yards receiving?Statistically the Bears are far and away the best defense out there, so why couldn’t they blanket this guy and make someone else beat them?
Week Eleven in Review Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Nov 21, 2005
A very good week of fantasy scoring around the league...maybe it's me, but it just seems wrong that the Colts have to resort to that 'no huddle/huddle at the line of scrimmage' thing. A team that good shouldn't have to resort to trickery should they?
